A paper installation.
The animals gathered…
at the beginning of time. They were from different parts of the universe; seals, elephants, swans, rhinos, bears, giraffes, wolves, frogs, owls, pigs, crabs, jackals, mice, squirrels, rabbits… They gazed up at the stars, wondering how they came to be, how to see, how to feel the stars that shone over them brightly. They couldn’t fathom these shiny dots in the night sky. They tried to reach out to the the stars, talk to the stars… but the stars stared back without any explanation. The animals formed different opinions about the stars; some angry, some apathetic, some obsessively intrigued by this mystique of the night sky. They split into groups and spread across the earth, hating each other for their intense, or lack of, opinion. And so, the hatred brewed, and tore them apart, not because of the stars, but because of their own lack of understanding.
I created a paper art installation of 1.5 x 1.5 meters that was used on display at Orms Print Room & Framing to promote their framing capabilities.
